The Nairobi Sisters‘ 1974 gem, “Promised Land,” makes a highly sought-after return with this repro release. Famously sampled by Q-Tip for “Whateva Will Be” and featured in various early ’90s boom-bap productions, it’s clear why this record is so coveted. Originally recorded with The Gaytones and released under the Gay Feet label, the track was later cut to Winston Jones’ Flames Records and became a defining piece of the Brooklyn reggae scene. This reissue comes in a limited thick card sleeve, adding a touch of class to an already exceptional release.
