Description
The Officials – Babylonians is a classic 1970s roots reggae track, produced by the legendary Niney The Observer and released on the Jaguar label. Performed by the group The Officials, comprised of Alvin Bailey and Carl Howell, who also handled the musical arrangements. The song criticizes the Babylonian system, highlighting its oppression and exploitation of the Rastafarian people. It achieved success in Jamaica and the UK, becoming an anthem for the Afro-Caribbean community.
